Comment: UK drivers to save £35 after new curbs on whiplash claims
The justice secretary has today unveiled plans to introduce a bill which sets to change the way whiplash claims are calculated and paid. Amanda Stretton, motoring editor at Confused.com says:
“It’s reassuring to see that the Government are reacting to an issue that many drivers feel strongly about. We welcome any changes that enable insurers to lower their prices for drivers.
“Car insurance premiums have continued to rise, increasing by 8% in the last year. Our research shows that the average premium is now at an astonishing £827.
“But the cost of car insurance is just one of a whole raft of motoring costs drivers are having to contend with. Shopping around online for things like car insurance, car finance and the cheapest stations to buy fuel are all ways drivers can save money. And the average driver could save £271 on car insurance by shopping around at Confused.com.”
