DRIVERS COULD BE TESTED FOR TIREDNESS
News today has revealed the scientists have developed a test to tell if motorists are too tired to drive. Amanda Stretton, motoring editor at Confused.com says:
“Driving with exhaustion can lead to serious consequences, and our own research shows a third (32%) of motorists have admitted to speeding and running red lights when exhausted to get home faster.
“There are many ways in which a lack of sleep can impact drivers, from slower reaction times to an increased heart rate, and in extreme cases, falling asleep behind the wheel. So we have created an interactive test can help motorists to identify whether or not they are regularly driving with exhaustion.
“Keeping the temperature cool in the car and having the radio on can help drivers stay alert, but we’d recommend pulling over to a safe place if they do feel tired. For more information on the dangers and impact of driving with exhaustion, motorists should use our driving emotions guide.”
