WHIPLASH REFORMS DELAYED UNTIL 2020
The Ministry of Justice has announced today that it will be delaying its proposed whiplash reform, implemented to curb the number of fraudulent claims, until 2020.
Louise O’Shea, CEO at Confused.com commented: “This is very disappointing news for drivers. Our car insurance price index found that premiums have dropped by 11% over the past year due to insurers softening prices in anticipation of the proposed Ogden Rate increase and whiplash reforms. But insurers may now react to this delay and therefore drivers could suffer from another increase in their car insurance costs.
“It is very important for drivers to shop around for car insurance to make savings. And we are so sure that money can be saved, that at Confused.com, we are offering to beat drivers’ renewals, or give them the difference, plus £20.”
