Jamie Oliver blames restaurant closures on Brexit - or does the nation have a growing appetite for independent eateries?

In light of plans for Jamie Oliver to close six of his Italian restaurants after tough trading and the “pressures and unknowns” following the Brexit vote, Louisa Walters, founder of The Restaurant Club questions this premise:
"Does the news that Jamie Oliver is closing six of his restaurants indicate that the tide is turning when it comes to restaurant chain culture? People are eating out more than ever before, spending a quarter of their annual wage on this national pastime. Yet, diners are being increasingly discerning about where they spend their culinary cash. Independent restaurants are becoming more and more appealing - as owner-managed establishments are in tune with what their customers are looking for and food is cooked fresh and from scratch. The Restaurant Club is proud to support London’s independent restaurant industry."
